Summary

From early colonial times comes this historical study of one Taylor family, first known in Exeter, New Hampshire, and then in York County, Maine. WILLIAM TAYLOR documents the first eight generations of the family of the immigrant, William Taylor, born about 1612 in England or Scotland and arriving in North America about 1635-1640. This study incorporates historical and biographical sketches for several prominent family members. It integrates the work of Edgar Yates (NEHGS), Lawrence B. Taylor and Robert L. Taylor, whose early and mid-twentieth century genealogical works were important to the development of this project. In addition, it includes illustrations, a bibliography of the source materials used to document the authors findings, and a complete name index detailing the 800+ family members found in the book.
