Richard Horden : Architecture and Teaching : Buildings, Projects, Workshops Through 2000

Inspired by the ease and elegance of the technological innovation demonstrated in aircraft, sailing boats and space flight, Richard Horden has attained a new architecture characterised by the intelligence of its construction and the radical minimisation of materials used. His concept of "touch the earth lightly" is not only evident in large-scale projects such as Wing Tower, a rotating tower for Glasgow, but also in his micro-architectural studies experimental minimal constructions which explore the architectonic relationship between high-tech lightweight constructions and nature.
