Summary

In this sequel to the first volume of Michigan on Fire, the state's fire story continues through the modern era. Starting in the early 1930s with the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) and the building of fire towers, it traces the path of destruction at Fletcher Road, Mack Lake, Stephan Bridge, Stockyard, and more. The author's extensive research reveals the causes and consequences of the disastrous fire at Seney that charred over 72,000 acres.
